Lets get clear here: this section is not going to be filled out with my own wisdom. Most of things here I've either read or heard from "guru's" of MTB and all I do here is proxy ones I've found practical and useful for me.

Pick your line
you've got to look ahead and never under your wheels or in direction you don't wanna go. Look ahead, pick the best line you thing you can manage and just follow it. Don't check midway if your wheels really got between those boulders - you've got other things to worry about :)
Relax
so many times it's been said on so many occasions. It took me a trip to Whistler to really learn what it means (however learn and apply to different things, eh? :) ). You've got to ease up, be real loose on the bike and take things one at a time and not worry about what's next. I've never done ladders in my life before Whistler. Going out there and relaxing going up-and-down on those I found that I spend less energy if I don't get all tense and I also enjoy the ride way more this way.
